The recreation block is placed right at the entrance as it contains functions which are going to be common for the residents and non resident students as well.
It almost forms a gateway to the site.
All the other buildings occupy the periphery leaving the center open for a huge play ground. The dining is centrally located between the two hostel blocks for convenience.

The massing is done carefully, maintaining an hierarchy in the volumes of the buildings with respect to the existing heritage building. This ensures that the design doesn't overpower the existing buildings.
