The fullscreen image slider was still a relatively new idea and it seemed like a perfect fit for the bold new vision that Parmeet wanted to bring to Marathon's corporate website.
You can check out his compelling case for the idea in the presentation below. He had made this to convince other stakeholders at the company.
Ironically, the literal fullscreen interpretation on small screens meant smaller images!
A slide–in panel served as the way to serve the content for each project page on the full desktop website. We changed course for mobile.
An obvious one: Adapting the top nav to the narrower displays
I'm just making stuff up here. I'm not really, but I kind of am too!
Marathon & SEO
I had put together a quick introduction to SEO for Parmeet and team, so that they could make a more informed decision on how much they should spend on SEO. I had learned quite a bit of this at zoomin.com while working with an excellent SEO consultant
The latest Marathon website still follows a lot of these principles that we had established almost a decade ago.
A lot of the images I have used in this post are directly from Illustrator / Photoshop and not actual screenshots from a web browser. Unfortunately, I never had the foresight to archive those screenshots. But these concept images were left behind as artefacts in my mailbox. This is, in part, what inspired the name for the portfolio app that we've designed to host this particular portfolio
Working with Parmeet is always fun! We have now founded a new real estate company called Sunset! More on that later.
