Postcards
Zoomin Postcards was a Facebook app that allows you to upload and send any of your Facebook photos as REAL postcards! Send them to your friends, your family, who knows, maybe even to your dog! For free!
There were many occasions where I wouldn't get on-board with new ideas just for the sake of getting on board with new ideas. This wasn't one of those occasions. Sunny, Ketan & Ajay had come up with this idea and I loved the idea from the very beginning. Conceptually, it worked on so many levels:
- The user creates an account & signs up
- The user experiences the app and the quality of print & paper
- There is so much 'delight' sprinkled throughout the process
- The costs associated with printing and posting were very low compared to the traditional means of acquiring new customers. This was a smart way of redirecting those funds directly to the customer.
- It definitely had the potential of 'going viral'. Do we still use this term? We definitely did back then!
From what I remember, the campaign did well but it didn't do as well as we thought it would. All in all, one of the most interesting marketing campaigns I have been involved in.
